Penrith is a suburb in western Sydney, Australia, about 50 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. It is a commercial centre and lies just east of the Nepean River, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Penrith is colloquially known as 'The Riff'. In the 2006 Census, there were 12874 children under 5 and 26655 school age children and 46186 households described as 'families'. Clearly, the availability of childcare is important to the people of Penrith!
